Royal Society of Chemistry responds to A-level results

The Royal Society of Chemistry's president, Professor Dominic Tildesley, said: "On behalf of the Royal Society of Chemistry, I want to congratulate all those students who have passed their chemistry A-levels today and say how fantastic it is to see the number of students choosing chemistry at A-level still rising. 

"I'm particularly pleased to see more girls taking chemistry A-level again this year, but based on current trends we sadly won't see all of this cohort progress their obvious talent for science into higher education and beyond - a situation that urgently needs tackling if we are to address the UK's current shortage of skilled STEM workers."
