How Faraday Discussions work
Proofs of around 25 invited and contributed papers are circulated well before each meeting. Since participants have the opportunity to read and consider each paper in advance, the discussion concentrates on the key issues underlying and connecting the presented papers.
The whole of the proceedings are subsequently published in the Faraday Discussions Volume, including the submitted discussion remarks; those that 'the contributors said, or think they said or wished they had said'. In this way, every participant has the opportunity to make a major contribution.
The latest ISI citation data give an impact factor for Faraday Discussions of 5.0, emphasising their importance as a forum for developing new ideas.
