Solid Surfaces Group

The Solid Surfaces Group (SSG) is concerned with promoting the understanding of interfacial phenomena, by means of both fundamental and applied research into the properties and characteristics of solid surfaces, and acts as a forum for the exchange of information and ideas within the surface science community.

Areas of interest of group members include, but are by no means limited to, topics such as:

  • Semiconductor surfaces
  • Nanotechnology and thin films
  • Heterogeneous catalysis
  • Surface analytical techniques
  • Theory of surfaces
  • Adsorption
  • Corrosion
  • Tribology
  • Biosurfaces
