Call for papers: Physical Chemistry of Biomolecular Motors and Machines
04 September 2008
PCCP is delighted to announce a themed issue on the Physical Chemistry of Biomolecular Motors and Machines, to be Guest Editored by Professor Anatoly Kolomeisky (Rice University).
Biomolecular motors and machines play a critical role for live cells. They transform chemical energy into mechanical work in order to perform their functions in biological systems. In recent years the experimental investigations of biomolecular motors and machines has significantly increased our knowledge about complex mechanism of biological processes. It is possible now to monitor and control the dynamics of biomolecular motors and machines at the single molecule level. Experimental advances have also stimulated significant theoretical efforts in understanding mechanism of these complex systems. The importance of this area of biophysical chemistry research is well recognized, and this special issue will further advance the field.
Deadline for Submission: 15 January 2009
Submissions should be high quality manuscripts of original, unpublished research. Both Communications and Full Papers can be submitted for consideration. All submissions will be subject to rigorous peer review to meet the usual high standards of PCCP.
The deadline for submissions to the themed issue is 15 January 2009, though submissions before this date are of course welcomed. The themed issue will be published in June 2009.
