JAAS impact factor now 4.03!

25 June 2009

Newly released ISI citation data show that at 4.028 JAAS has the highest impact factor of any journal publishing primary research in atomic spectrometry.

The JAAS immediacy index has also increased to 0.677 indicating that JAAS is the clear choice for topical fundamental atomic spectrometry research in all fields of application.

The journal has also maintained its position as a Top 5 analytical chemistry journal.

The immediacy index is a measure of how topical and urgent the papers published by a journal are. It is calculated by dividing the number of citations to articles published in a given year by the number of articles published in that year.

The impact factor is a measure of the number of times an "average article" in a journal has been cited in a particular year. The impact factor for 2008 is calculated from the total number of citations given in 2008 to articles published in 2006 and 2007, divided by the number of articles published in 2006 and 2007.

We would like to thank our authors, referees and readers for their part in helping us to achieve this success.
