Two OBC poster prizes were awarded to Lee Challinor of Imperial College, UK and Matthias Welker of the University of Nottingham, UK at the 2nd EuCheMS Chemistry Congress held in Turin, Italy on the 16-20 September.

  
The multidisciplinary conference was attended by scientists from all across Europe as well as attracting some researchers from further afield. The scientific standard of poster presentations was excellent and the EuCheMS Organic Division committee members acted as judges and selected Lee and Matthias. 

Lee currently works under the supervision of Professor Alan Armstrong and presented a poster entitled 'Organocatalytic amine synthesis via allylic sulfinimide rearrangement'. 

Matthias' prize winning poster was entitled '1,4-Conjugate addition on dithioketal monoprotected benzoquinone derivatives'. His work was undertaken in Professor Simon Woodward's group. Both winners receive a one year print subscription to OBC and an RSC book.
