Professor Jay Siegel

Jay Siegel received his BSc degree from California State University in 1980. He then moved to Princeton where he took up graduate studies in chemistry with Prof. Kurt M. Mislow and received both and MSc and PhD in the area of structural chemistry and stereochemistry. Jay then moved to work at NSF-CNRS as postdoctoral fellowship with Prof. Jean-Marie Lehn at the University of Louis Pasteur in Strasbourg. He began his independent career as an Assistant Professor in 1986 at UCSD and was subsequently promoted to Associate Professor and Full Professor. In 2003 Jay was appointed Professor and Co-director of the Organic Chemistry Institute of the University of Zurich and Director of its Laboratory for Process Research (LPF). Jay initially became involved with OBC as an editorial board member and took up the post of chair in 2007.
