When first published, ChemComm was not assigned volume numbers. We have found that this causes problems for customers, in particular with online links to journal articles. Volume numbers will now be added, beginning with issue 1, 2010. Previous volumes (i.e. all issues published before 2010) will not be numbered retrospectively.

ChemComm will start from volume 46 in 2010 (Issues for 1965-2009 have no volume numbering).

So from issue 1, 2010, you should reference ChemComm  articles in the following way:

Chem. Commun., 2010, 46, <page number>
