Call for Papers: Crystal Engineering in Molecular Magnetism
20 November 2008
CrystEngComm is delighted to announce an upcoming theme issue entitled Crystal Engineering in Molecular Magnetism. The Guest Editors are Concepció Rovira and Jaume Veciana. It is our pleasure to invite you to contribute to this themed issue.
The issue is intended to bring together the strongly related topics of molecular magnetism and crystal engineering. Whilst each topic can stand alone, and is extensive in its own right, there also exists a natural link between them. It is hoped that we can reflect these aspects in the articles included, to mutually inform the two disciplines and stimulate research at this exciting interface. Crystal engineering and self-assembling techniques/approaches can be used to design and prepare molecular crystals with relevant magnetic properties, but it extends much further into actual solid state supramolecular organizations as well as materials synthesis. All aspects of crystalline materials and self-assembling in surfaces will also be included in the issue, such as their design, methods of preparation, diversity of molecular species, polymorphism therein, phase transitions, 2D organizations, applications in materials science and unusual structural features.
Deadline for Submission: 31 March 2009
The manuscript should be prepared according to the format for regular articles and will be subjected to the normal refereeing procedure. Manuscripts should be submitted no later than 31st March 2009 by using the ReSourCe web submissions service or as an email attachment to the CrystEngComm Editorial Office. Please indicate on submission that your manuscript is intended for this themed issue.
We would be pleased to hear from you if you are interested in contributing to this theme issue or if you would like any further information.
