Dr Robert Eagling, Editor of Chem Soc Rev, presented the 2009 Chem Soc Rev Energing Investigator Lecture award  to Dr Matt Gaunt at the Organic Synthesis Symposium sponsored by AstraZeneca at Loughborough University on the 7th October 2009. 

Matt Gaunt, from the University of Cambridge, UK, was chosen by the Chem Soc Rev Editorial Board to receive this award which rewards emerging investigators in the early part of their independent academic career who have made a significant contribution to their research discipline. His award address was entitled 'New Catalytic Strategies for Chemical Synthesis'.

The nominations for the 2010 Chem Soc Rev Lecture awards will open later this month.
