07 January 2009
RSC Publishing today announced the online publication of the first issue of Integrative Biology, a new interdisciplinary journal for the scientific community.
Free for all to read online, this inaugural issue contains articles on human mammary progenitor cell fate decisions; the analysis of aptamer binding sequence-activity relationships using micro-arrays; genome-wide transcriptome analysis of 150 cells samples; and much more. Authors from around the globe have submitted work of the highest quality, knowing that they can rely on RSC staff for overseeing a rigorous peer-review process, efficient manuscript handling and rapid publication.

In the inaugural Editorial, chair of the editorial board Professor Mina Bissell comments: 'I am convinced that finally the time is right to launch a truly unique and multidisciplinary journal that strives to introduce novel technologies - not for their own sake - but to answer important and significant questions in biology'
Dr Robert Parker, Managing Director of RSC Publishing added: This journal is RSC Publishing's latest addition in integrating physical sciences and biology, which is important for the progress of science. RSC Publishing recognises the significance of this area by publishing Integrative Biology.'
