Section A of Annual Reports on the Progress of Chemistry has been published. Scientifically edited by Professors Frank Berry and Eric Hope, this volume contains topical reviews showcasing the latest developments in inorganic and bioinorganic research in 2008 - a great teaching resource for those wanting to find information that spans the whole of inorganic chemistry in one place. Thank you to all the contributors who have helped to put together this volume.
Section A features a review from Professor Duncan Gregory from Glasgow University titled "Hydrogen storage materials: present scenarios and future directions". Section A also contains reviews on elements in the periodic table from the alkali and alkaline-earth metal groups to the actinides group, plus the following topics:
- Coordination chemistry of macrocyclic ligands
- Supramolecular coordination chemistry
- New compounds and structures in the solid state
- Fullerenes
- Nanotubes
- Inorganic and organometallic polymers
- Reaction mechanisms in solution
- Conducting solids
- Radiochemistry
- Bioinorganic chemistry
- Inorganic pharmaceuticals
- Photophysical properties of metal complexes
