The Conference
Join us in 2017 at the SQU – chemistry conference: Green and
Sustainable Chemistry, hosted by the Department of Chemistry at the
Sultan Qaboos University. This must-attend conference for green
chemists and engineers will be held in Muscat, Oman on November
13-15, 2017, and will provide a forum for chemists and
environmentalists from around the world to meet, present, and
discuss their research activities.
Participants will find a chance to share their expertise, either in oral or
poster presentations, in the field of green and sustainable chemistry,
and identify areas of possible collaboration. The conference will
feature plenary lectures by internationally renowned speakers, poster
presentations, and a full session dedicated to presentations by
graduate students and young researchers. English will be the official
language for the entire event.
Themes
Green chemical processes
Sustainable catalysis
Alternative energy
Green Synthesis
Wastewater treatment
Utilization of waste
Lignin Chemistry, Air pollution
Nano technology in water treatment
Environmental remediation
Microfluidic systems in environmental analysis
Analysis of emerging pollutants
Climate
During November, Muscat region typically enjoys dry and clear
weather conditions, with temperatures between 26°C, (79°F) and
30°C (86°F) and average rainfall is 10mm (0.4in).
Tourism
Conference attendees (participants) are encouraged to combine
participation at the conference with the opportunity to explore some
of Oman's world class tourism destinations. Information will be
provided in the conference website.
