ChemSpider reaches 50 million compounds
Seven years ago we acquired ChemSpider, a free chemical structure database that integrates and links data from over 500 sources to provide fast access to structures, properties and associated information.
In those seven years, we've more than doubled the number of entries, from over 21 million registered compounds / chemical species in 2009, to over 50 million today, and ChemSpider continues to grow. This growth has been driven by both our in-house team and ChemSpider users, who are invited to contribute their own structures, spectra or syntheses. Users can also actively participate in the curation of the data, working with the in-house team to ensure the quality and integrity of ChemSpider.
ChemSpider makes it easy for researchers to find the information they need. All of the available data can be searched and accessed without registering an account, and it can be accessed via all devices.
