Hydroformylation
Definition: The reaction of hydrogen and carbon monoxide with an alkene, to give an aldehyde, catalysed by a rhodium or cobalt catalyst. The process is equivalent to the formal addition of the H-C bond of formaldehyde across the double bond of an alkene.
