Textbook Adoptions Policy
The Royal Society of Chemistry provides a selection of published books to be considered as course textbooks by qualified instructors and lecturers at academic institutions. The available selection includes textbooks and popular science books that would be suitable to be adopted as core texts or added to academic reading lists.
It is at the discretion of the RSC to determine whether the individual requesting an inspection copy qualifies as a teaching academic, and that the textbook is suitable for modules taught. To ensure that this criteria is met, the RSC may request additional information from you. To apply for an inspection copy, you must use an academic or professional email address.
Inspection copies are provided for qualified academics and professionals to review for use in their courses during the next academic year. These copies are licensed and may not be sold or transferred to a third party. You may select up to two separate textbooks to adopt for the next academic year. Additional copies should be purchased.
The RSC will provide individuals with a digital version of the textbook for 60 days to allow sufficient time for review. If a textbook is adopted, a complimentary copy in print (desk copy) will be provided. Customers outside of the UK and Europe should allow at least five weeks for print book delivery.
We value your opinion on the publications suggested for your course adoption. We request that you submit your feedback for each inspection copy by emailing our Book Sales team within 30 days of receipt. A reminder of the request for feedback will be sent.
We may collect personal information from you, such as full name, country, job title, occupation, company information, email address and telephone number.
We would also like to use your email address to send you offers and information about related products and services that we think will be of interest to you. You may opt out of receiving these messages at any time by clicking unsubscribe at the bottom of any marketing email. You can find more information in our Privacy Policy.
The RSC may terminate your access to your Inspection Copy if at any time you fail to comply with these terms.
