Effective leadership in the chemical sciences is essential for building high performing teams, for enabling collaboration, and inspiring individuals to do their very best work.
Whether it's leading from the lab, the office or some other workplace, managers are the crucial link between an organisation's senior execs and its workforce. They translate strategy into action and know how to motivate their teams to achieve successful outcomes.
The Chartered Management Institute's (CMI) Chartered Manager (CMgr) award is the definitive accolade for the professional manager. It's a professional award, based on the assessment of an individual's personal skills and expertise in leading people and managing change.
Chartered Managers use a combination of technical and soft skills to lead their teams, manage performance, and support and develop individuals. They demonstrate effective leadership behaviours in managing change and helping their organisations to move forward.

Maintaining your CMgr status
Like most professional awards, it's a mandatory requirement to commit to continuous professional development (CPD). In a fast-changing world, it's essential to keep your knowledge and skills up to date.
Maintaining a record of your professional development helps you to identify gaps in your knowledge and opportunities to learn new skills. We offer members a free CPD recording tool to make this easier.
Please contact the CMI for more information about their CPD and revalidation requirements.
