This course is taught live in a virtual classroom through interactive, instructor-led training with instrument parts and consumables shown and explained. Small group sizes with plenty of opportunities to ask questions through live Q&A.
This module focuses on mass spectrometry, the reasons for using the technique and the data generated.
The course reviews the types of mass spectrometers available that are hyphenated to GC and looks at their components including vacuum systems, ionisation techniques, mass filters and detectors.
At the end of the course, delegates will have knowledge of how mass spectrometers work and the data they generate, have an understanding of the principles and components of the mass spectrometer and some of the advantages of mass spectrometry detectors.
This is module 6 of the Virtual Classroom Training: Practical Essentials of GC & GC-MS (total 19.25 hours) and the Virtual Classroom Training: Complete GC & GC-MS (total 32 hours).
