This 1-day course covers how to plan and organise the method development process, with a number of recommended strategies and looking at the parameters to optimise at each stage. How to validate the method and method optimisation are examined in detail. Delegates will then implement the knowledge gained through practical method development case studies.
The course then takes a look at some advanced techniques that can be used for difficult or complex samples, including Selective Discrimination, Deconvolution, Mass Spectral Interpretation, Multi-Dimensional GC (GC+GC & GCxGC) and Chemometrics.
At the end of the course, delegates will have learnt strategies for method development, how to optimise for sensitivity or to reduce carryover, how to break the method down into tasks and have knowledge of the parameters and how to optimise them for each method task. They will have an introduction to GC & MS advanced techniques.
Day 4 / Modules 9 - 10 of the Complete GC & GC-MS course and Day 1 / Modules 9 - 10 of The GC & GC-MS Clinic course.
Before attending this course you should have a good knowledge of gas chromatography and the techniques covered in the Virtual Classroom: Practical Essentials of GC & GC-MS.
