Data Science

Data Science is a specialised team working within the Technology department at the Royal Society of Chemistry.

As experts in web analytics, statistics, cheminformatics, machine learning, text analytics and (of course) chemistry, we analyse diverse and complex data sets to:

• create machine learning tools for extracting chemical information from literature
• instigate KPIs to measure changes in user behaviour
• develop new types of molecular comparison tool
• provide forecasting models for the prediction of usage and demand
• mine our papers to look for topic trends
• develop recommendation systems for scientists
• mine web logs to identify fraudulent activities
• use statistical inference to predict novel fragments from mass spectra.
