Introduction
Aim of the course:
To provide a broad-based, but detailed introduction to colloids and an overview of some theoretical developments and experimental advances. The course will provide an excellent opportunity for delegates to talk directly to experts in this field and to stimulate ideas for innovative applications of colloid science. The course will consist of lectures, interactive sessions, a group problem solving session and demonstrations of the latest developments in surface and colloid science instrumentation.

Who should attend:
The course will be of interest to professional scientists, engineers, laboratory managers and technology suppliers in a wide range of industries who wish to update and advance their knowledge in Colloid Science. It is also suitable as an introduction for physical scientists with no previous experience of the subject.
Usually, delegates are either science graduates or possess an equivalent qualification.

Fees:
Fees include all tuition costs, a comprehensive set of lecture notes, lunches and refreshments during the day and a Course Dinner. Delegates will also receive a copy of the textbook specially commissioned for Spring School "Colloid Science: Principles, methods and applications" (Ed. Terence Cosgrove). Organisers:
The course is organised by Formumetrics Ltd and leading academics from the University of Bristol. Lectures will be delivered by experts in the field of colloid science, all of whom are world-renowned researchers in dispersions, emulsions, gels, surfactants and polymers.
The course will focus on the theories used in colloid science, their application and associated measurement techniques.

• Polymers at interfaces
• Colloidal stability
• Wetting
