The 50th Symposium, chaired by Prof. Chris Abell (University of Cambridge), will take place at Gregynog (nr. Newtown, Powys) on 20th – 22nd May 2016, starting at 3.00 pm on Friday 20th May. The 50th Symposium will be a general meeting entitled “A Celebration of Biological & Organic Chemistry”, featuring some of the Conference Chairs of previous ESBOC symposia to review developments in the field, and will feature other leading experts in drug discovery and chemical biology. Plenary speakers are: Brian Shoichet (UCSF), Clifton Barry III (NIH), Juan Granja (Santiago de Compostela), John Robinson (Zurich), Peter Leadlay (Cambridge), Sarah O’Connor (John Innes Centre), Andreas Plückthun (Zurich), Rudolf Allemann (Cardiff), Helen Hailes (UCL) and Robert Liskamp (Glasgow). There are several slots available for short talks, intended for younger academics with research interests relevant to the scientific session, for which applicants can apply upon registration. We strongly encourage postdocs and PhD students to attend, and there will be a poster session at the meeting.
