Who should take this course?
The course will cover the what, why, where, when and how of GC & GC-MS and is designed to allow attendees to boost their knowledge and confidence in all aspects of these techniques. If you have no or very little knowledge of gas chromatography, are an analyst, technician, engineer or work in sales and would like to improve your knowledge in this area, then this is the course for you. Those returning to work with GC will find this to be an excellent refresher course on the subject. What does it cover?
Absolute Basics of GC & GC-MS will have a strong focus on the practical, rather than the theoretical side of these techniques and will cover questions such as:-What is a GC or GC-MS? How can these instruments help solve your analytical problems and what answers can they give?
When would you use them and what types of analytes and samples can you use them for?
How would you use them, how do they work and what is available?
This one day course is ideal as a stand-alone course. You will be able to apply what you learn on this course as soon as you return to your laboratory.
What will I get from this course?
You will acquire a thorough understanding of the mechanisms and instrumentation associated with GC and GC-MS, the way in which it may be used to solve analytical problems, and the methods for obtaining relevant sample information.
