In December we will be holding a regional heat for the Royal Society of Chemistry “Top of the Bench” competition aimed at KS3 and KS4 students. This competition is designed to encourage and reward high achievement and is an excellent opportunity to showcase talent in the local area. We would like to invite you to nominate a team of students from your school to take part. The winners of the regional heat will progress to a national final held in the spring.
Rules for entering a team of 4 students:
Each team should be made up of the following:
2 students from year 9
1 student from year 10
1 student from year 11
Team members must be in these school years for the heats and the National Final. In order to widen participation we ask that only students that have not taken part in the competition previously are nominated. Each team must be accompanied by one teacher. Please contact Dr Nicky King by Friday 18th November if you wish to enter a team.
What will happen at the regional heat?
The regional heat will take the form of a practical test and a quiz
The winners will be announced in a short awards ceremony at the end of the event
