Introduction

There are stories about chemistry behind every new drug discovery, every baked cake and every baking powder volcano. This storytelling event will explore how the human side of chemistry can be hilarious, heart-breaking, delightful and shocking through true stories told by both scientists and non-scientists.

Our storytellers will include:

Colin Batchelor - Data Scientist and tenor at the Royal Society of Chemistry​
Anna Cupani - Chemist with an engineering twist, curious about people & what they think of science, singer for the benefit of body & soul, currently Research Manager at Imperial College London
David Mills - Tea drinking, electron wrangling, document scanning, scientist-geek of all trades and Physicist at the Queen Mary University of London
Claire Murray - Brownie leader, avid baker, boardgamer and molecular detective/Research Scientist working at Diamond Light Source, the UK’s national synchrotron
Toria Stafford - Bookworm, chocolate addict, human fruit bat and pint-sized chemistry PhD Student at The University of Manchester
Aurora Walshe - Grammar enthusiast and would-be blacksmith from Royal Society of Chemistry Publishing
