Overview
Having a secure grasp of scientific vocabulary is key to understanding scientific concepts being able to transfer knowledge to unfamiliar scenarios. Many students however are unable to differentiate between everday use of words and their scientific application. This workshop explores the role of vocabulary and scientific language in improving attainment, identifying misconceptions and methods of improving outcomes through improved scientific literacy.This workshop aims to suppoert non-specialists and early career teachers build confidence in their practice as well as refreshing knowledge and challenging ideas of more experienced practioners.
