Sheffield Hallam University - Thursday 30th January 2020
The Schools Analyst Competition is an annual national competition coordinated by the Royal Society of Chemistry’s Analytical Division. On the 30th of January 2020 we are hosting a regional heat. The winner of this heat will compete in the competition final.
The competition is an opportunity for students to use analytical equipment not usually available in schools, gain additional practical experience and apply their knowledge of chemistry to solve problems. Instructions will be given and students will be supervised but help from staff will be limited to ensure a fair competition. The competition is open to those currently studying AS (year 12) chemistry or equivalent. Each team will consist of 3 students from the same school or college. A maximum of 1 team are allowed from each school or college.
Prizes (in the form of gift vouchers) will be awarded to individual students and schools whose teams are placed 1st, 2nd or 3rd in this regional heat.
