Innovations In Packaging: Stimulating supply chain collaborations

Introduction
This free event aims to spark research, development and innovative collaboration by encouraging new partnerships within packaging supply chains. The Knowledge Transfer Networks (KTN's) are enabling retailers, brand owners, materials developers, designers, chemists, polymer scientists, and experts in nanotechnology, renewable materials, recycling and lifecycle analysis, to come together under one roof.

A major focus for the event will be to highlight the forthcoming collaborative funding opportunities from the Seventh Framework Programme (FP7), grouped into theme areas of; Nanosciences, Nanotechnologies, Materials and New Production Technologies (NMP) and Knowledge Based Bio Economy (KBBE).

•Smart and multifunctional packaging concepts utilizing nanotechnology [NMP.2011.1.1-1]

•Advanced packaging materials from renewable biogenic resources [NMP.2011.2.3-1]

•Eco-design for new products [NMP.2011.3.1-1]

•Advanced and flexible technologies for active, intelligent and sustainable food packaging [KBBE.2011.2.3-03]

Support
Biosciences, Chemistry Innovation, Electronics Sensors and Photonics, Materials and Nanotechnology KTNs, UK FP7 National Contact Point (NCP), and European Enterprise Network (EEN), will provide expert guidance on FP7 and other public funding opportunities (such as the Technology Strategy Board and Research Councils). They will be able to provide you with partnering and project building support, during and after the event, aiming to break down difficulties that may prevent participation within the funding areas.

Anyone with a packaging challenge or solution, looking for new external collaborations e.g. R&D/Innovation Managers, Senior Scientists, Business Development Managers, Academic Researchers, Designers. Relevant sectors include,
but are not limited to; Food & Beverages, Home & Personal Care, Consumer Products and Medicines & Healthcare.
