This course provides an introduction to Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC), aimed at complete beginners. The course is also ideal for analysts or technicians looking for a refresher in these techniques.
You will learn about the various DSC thermal analysis experiments and gain an understanding of how the technique works, the types of samples that can be analysed and the data that is produced.
The course looks at the different types of instrumentation available, along with the choice of sample pans and method development parameters which can be optimised.
Beyond the instrumentation, data analysis and the sorts of questions which the technique can answer is also explored, giving you a complete picture.
The course will also explore some of the industries and their application of the technique.
This course is taught live in a virtual classroom and offers a fully interactive experience, with small class sizes. Delegates are able to ask live questions; either by using their microphone or by typing into the Q&A or chat box.
Duration: 3.5 hours
Scheduled course price: £192.50 + VAT per delegate
Royal Society of Chemistry members receive a discount of 15% for this course (membership number required).
