The time has come to register your interest in the Royal Society of Chemistry Top of the Bench Competition 2023-24. The teams must consist of four students - two year 9s, one year 10 and one year 11 student. Please be mindful of the diversity in your team before applying
This year’s competition will be in two parts, where all teams can participate in the regional heats (1), with the top schools being selected to participate in the regional final (2). Should your school get through to the final, we will be awarding prizes for individual team members and vouchers for schools to purchase new chemistry equipment. The winning school from the winning trial will have the opportunity of representing East Anglia Region in the National Final in 2024.
The East Anglia regional competition will consist of the following rounds:
1. Monday 16th October to Friday 20th October 2023 - A regional heat virtual quiz which can be completed remotely at a time of the school/teacher's choosing.
2. Practical Science Investigation Day at Chemistry Department of UEA by December 2023 (date to be confirmed) - A regional final comprising of practical experiments at a laboratory in the University of East Anglia.
