NSCCS Gaussian Workshop for Beginners 2012

Introduction

The NSCCS will be holding a 2-day training workshop for beginners on the software package Gaussian on the 11th & 12th September 2012 at Imperial College London. The workshop will be aimed at complete beginners and will consist of a mixture of lectures and problem-oriented practical sessions. New PhD students and experimentalists are particularly encouraged to attend. The workshop will cover the basics of setting up input files and interpreting output files and the use of the Graphical User Interface GaussView. Participants will also be given the opportunity to consult with experts in the field. Part of the focus of the workshop will be on transition metals and main group chemistry, based on the interests of the invited speaker Dr Hrant Hratchian who is a Gaussian developer.
