Once your book has been published, it's time to share the news with the community
We'll do as much as we can to raise the awareness of your new book. We'll provide you with a marketing support form and use the information you provide to carry out promotion. You can also help us by carrying out all or any of the following suggestions. See our other book publishing pages to find out other advantages of publishing with us and how to submit manuscripts.
Use your contacts
Contact your colleagues and tell them that your book is now available. If it’s a textbook, let people know that it's suitable for their courses, and recommend they contact us for an inspection copy. Our experience has shown us that institutions are keen to hold copies of work done by their faculty, so let your library know that the book is available.
Share book reviews
Quotes from a good review can be used in publicity material and on our website, and will automatically feed through to booksellers such as Amazon.
Let us know of any places to send the book to be reviewed – for example, journals, magazines, society magazines and newsletters.
Ask colleagues to add a customer review on Amazon (Canada, China, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, United Kingdom, and United States).
Use other society affiliations
Are you involved with any other societies? Do you have contacts within the societies that could promote your title, say, through their website or in newsletters? Why not contact them to see whether there are any opportunities available?
Market at conferences
Will you be presenting at or attending any upcoming conferences? Perhaps you could include a picture of your book cover in your talk or display some flyers? Please let us know at least two months in advance so we can send relevant information to you.
Use social media
Your website/blog: Add a link to the webpage for the book. We can supply an image file for the cover of the book for use on your website.
Facebook: Post a link to the webpage for the book in your status and share news of its publication.
LinkedIn: Add the book to your profile and contact colleagues to share news of the publication.
Twitter: Tweet the publication to your followers and the community.
Wikipedia: Add a reference to the book on relevant pages.
Amazon Author Central: Use this free authors' tool to promote your book.
Use supplementary material
Video showcasing is being used increasingly as a way to interact with our community. We can host these videos on our YouTube channel, and create links to them from the book on our website. We can provide a similar service for relevant presentations via Slideshare. Please contact us for more information using the details on this page.
