New online tutorials available for MarinLit
We have worked with ProfessorsJohn Blunt and Murray Munro (University of Canterbury, New Zealand) to produce nine tutorials explaining how the database’s powerful features can help to solve the problems faced by marine natural product researchers.
The tutorial series includes:
- an introduction to the database
- how to use the quick search feature to search compounds and papers
- how to search using bibliographic information
- the various ways to search for compounds
- how MarinLit can be used for dereplication
- the taxonomic search options
- how location data can be queried to provide biogeographic information
- how MarinLit can be used to find the collection locations that researchers have worked from
- a worked example of a real dereplication problem using the full capabilities of MarinLit
About MarinLit
MarinLit is a database dedicated to marine natural product research, established in the 1970s by Professors John Blunt and Murray Munro at the University of Canterbury, New Zealand. Originally designed as an in-house system to fulfil the needs of the University of Canterbury Marine Group, it has evolved to contain unique searchable features and powerful dereplication tools. The extremely comprehensive range of data contained along with these features makes MarinLit the database of choice for marine natural products researchers.
