CSIRO deal is a first in Australia
We have agreed a new Read & Publish deal with the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO), the first such agreement with a partner in Australia.
The agreement, for an initial one-year pilot, with the opportunity to extend into the future makes our Read and Publish offer available for all CSIRO scientists to use across Australia.
Royal Society of Chemistry Director of Sales & Marketing, Stephen Rumbelow, welcomed the news, saying: “We are excited to welcome CSIRO as the first organisation in Australia to take our Read and Publish offer through this pilot scheme.
"Despite the challenges of a global pandemic, our teams have been able to work together to find a model that worked within their budget and also meets the needs of their collection development policy to engage in Read and Publish offers with publishers. We look forward to working with them and building even stronger links with the Australian chemistry community.”
Brendan Dalton, CSIRO’s Chief Information and Data Officer says: "CSIRO sees open access as essential both to support national and international research excellence, and to increase the visibility of CSIRO’s research.
"The Royal Society of Chemistry Read and Publish deal meets all CSIRO’s principles for a transformative agreement. The journals included cover chemical sciences and related areas of science of direct relevance to CSIRO research."
