Dr Nadeem Sheikh
I am an accomplished academic with over 17 years of post-PhD experience in teaching, research, and academic leadership. Currently, I serve as an Associate Professor of Organic Chemistry at Universiti Brunei Darussalam. Previously, I spent over a decade at King Faisal University, Saudi Arabia, where I advanced to the role of Associate Professor, making significant contributions to curriculum development and quality assurance.
My research expertise spans organic synthesis, medicinal chemistry, computational chemistry and sustainable materials. My work has led to the efficient synthesis of bioactive compounds, poly-functionalized nitrogen heterocycles and computational chemistry applications. My research has been published in leading journals, including Nature, Science, J. Am. Chem. Soc., and Angew. Chem. Int. Ed.. Aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly in health and clean energy, my research integrates cutting-edge approaches to drive scientific innovation.
I hold a PhD from the University of Southampton, UK and completed postdoctoral research at the University of Sheffield, UK. Recognized for academic excellence, I have received prestigious awards from both the UK and Pakistan. Passionate about teaching, interdisciplinary research and academic leadership, I am dedicated to fostering innovation and excellence in higher education.
