Dr Sivakumar Balakrishnan

Dr Sivakumar Balakrishnan is a Senior Lecturer in chemistry at PNG University of Technology (Unitech), Lae, Papua New Guinea.

He holds a Master’s degree in Inorganic Chemistry and PhD in Chemistry from Trinity College Dublin, Ireland under the supervision of Prof Yurii K Gun'ko. He has been involved in chemistry research for more than 15 years.

His research interests are porous silicon, Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs) and inorganic luminescent materials. He has authored more than 30 publications and has been a reviewer for many peer-reviewed international journals.

As a RSC representative for PNG, he would like to organise outreach programs (chemistry & materials science) in PNG and strengthen RSC's networks in PNG and South Pacific region.
