The 2024 Chemical Biology Symposium
In May, 130 delegates attended the Chemical Biology Symposium. The symposium is in its seventh year and the 2024 programme featured six world-class speakers, including RSC Prize winners and a Nobel Prize winner. Speakers were: Natalie Ahn (University of Colorado Boulder), Tom Brown (University of Oxford), Akane Kawamura (Newcastle University), Morten Meldal (University of Copenhagen), Steven D Townsend (Vanderbilt University) and Stephen Wallace (University of Edinburgh).
Forty poster presenters shared their research during the dedicated poster sessions, and prizes were awarded to three poster presenters by the journal RSC Chemical Biology. The talks and posters highlighted great research from across the breadth of chemical biology, its applications and highlighted future directions for the field.
It was wonderful to be able to celebrate the exciting science of RSC Prize winners and to invite high profile scientists from around the world. We are grateful not only for their willingness to participate in this annual flagship RSC event, but also for the enthusiasm with which they engaged with the early career members of the chemical biology community - discussions running late into the evening!"
Thank you to the community for their support and to the members of the 2024 Scientific Committee: Rob Field, Federico Brucoli; Charlotte Dodson and Carmen Galan.
The 2025 Chemical Biology Symposium will take place on 12 May 2025.
