Materials Chemistry Community Poster Symposium
The Materials Chemistry community flagship event for early career researchers, the Materials Chemistry Poster Symposium, returned to an in-person event on 17 November 2022.
This year, there was unprecedented demand for the event, with 128 applicants applying for just 60 places, leading to fierce competition. There was excellent science on display throughout the day, and three outstanding presenters won a prize.
Congratulations to our poster prize winners!
Our judging panel gave high praise to all of the posters on display.
Huge congratulations, therefore, must go to the two delegates that scored the highest amongst the judges: Áine Coogan (Trinity College Dublin) and Carolina Pulignani (University of Cambridge).
Áine and Carolina both won free registration to MC16, taking place next year 3-6 July at University College Dublin.
Congratulations also go to Chirag R Ratwani, who was voted best poster by his peers, and won a book token, sponsored by the Journal of Materials Chemistry.
Careers front and centre
This year saw the inclusion of several career elements, such as one-to-one careers consultations and a careers panel instead of the traditional plenary speaker. This format proved an extremely popular and welcome addition to the event. All of the one-to-one careers consultations were fully booked on the day, and the combination of the careers-based elements was well-received by the delegates.
