Dr Andrew L. Dicks – consultant
BSc DIS PhD FRSC FAIE
My career started as a research scientist in the UK gas industry working on catalytic process development, process modelling and systems analysis, especially fuel cell systems. I was co-author for a textbook on fuel cell systems that has been translated into several languages and the third edition was published in 2018.
In 2002, I moved to Australia to take up a senior research fellowship at the University of Queensland. There, I developed an interest in nano-materials for clean energy systems. This has included the development of hydrogen technology (fuel cells) and renewable energy integration.
During my career, I have worked for and advised companies and governments in the UK, Europe, North America and Australasia. I have also provided training for the Institute of Chemical Engineers and other education bodies involved in the energy transition. I now offer consultancy on energy transition pathways and processes, as well as help, to small businesses and startups.
