Cyril Colin Buxton MRSC

Cyril Colin Buxton was born in Radford, Nottingham. His early employment was a junior clerk with the Trustee Savings Bank working for a firm of Chartered Accountants and the Cival Service before being called up for National Service in the Royal Airforce. In 1956 Cyril started training as an Environmental Health Officier in Salford near Manchester. He worked in the profession for nearly thirty years until he retired. It was in Manchester that he met his wife Inez Gillian Buxton. He was a member of the CIEH for sixty years. In 1981 he obtained a First Class BA (Hons) in a Science Degree through the Open University. Cyril's interest focus on chemistry. In 1972 he took a post in Ndola, Zambia before returning to the UK in 1975.
Outside of his work Cyril was devoted to the church of St. Martins in Worle, Weston Super Mare. He was also an active member of the Royal Airforce Society.
On December 10th 2018 Cyril peacefully passed away at home in Weston following terminal cancer. His daughter Jeanette Jordan was present at his side. He leaves behind a son, five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He died aged 85 years.
