John James Bennison CChem FRSC
30th April 1929 - 12th October 2018
John started his career in the laboratory at Puritan Tannery in Runcorn, whilst completing physics, maths and technical drawing at night school.
Later his studies in Chemistry led to him achieving an HNC, then becoming Associate of the Royal Institute of Chemistry, and finally a Fellow of the Royal Institute of Chemistry and a chartered chemist.
John worked at the analytical laboratory for the Leather Manufacturers Research Association in Surrey in the early part of his career. He then joined Forestal in Widnes where he spent the rest of his career, and was heavily involved in the re-orientation of the business through its takeover by Grace Dearborn and become European Research & Development Director.
John enjoyed a happy married life to the late Marian Bennison and was the proud father to Robert, Rachel & Louise and Grandfather to Stephen, Olivia & Jonathan.
