RSC Publishing makes its entire eBook Collection available to RLUK research libraries
The Royal Society of Chemistry has teamed up with Research Libraries UK to offer their library members enormous value for money for the RSC eBook Collection.
eBook options are now available to RLUK members for 2011 within a one-off purchase regime that will give standard indefinite access to high-quality research content from industry and academia.
The complete RSC eBook collection, dating from 1968 to 2011, includes 1,039 eBooks and can be purchased at great value or alternatively, an annual collection can be bought to suit a particular budget. RSC Publishing has an extensive portfolio of books ranging from food science and analytical chemistry to organic and physical chemistry.
OCLC MARC records are also provided free with any eBook collection purchase. Access is offered on the RSC Publishing Platform with PDF downloads and is perpetual. The collaboration between two not-for-profit organisations offers value at a particularly tough time for libraries around the country.
Stephen Hawthorne, Sales Director at the RSC, said: "With our Higher Education population at a record high, it is imperative that universities increase the number of high-quality research publications so all students can access the best material, wherever they study. To that end, the RSC's collaboration with RLUK will play an important role in maintaining the UK's prominent standing among global academic institutions."
David Prosser, Executive Director of Research Libraries UK, said: "RLUK is delighted to be working with the Royal Society of Chemistry to provide value to its members in the current climate. Learned society publishers are a very important element in the dissemination of research, and we will be seeking to collaborate further with the Royal Society of Chemistry to improve the brokering of knowledge to academics and students at RLUK institutions."
