RSC teams up with Asia Information Services to sell eBooks in China and Hong Kong
The Royal Society of Chemistry has joined forces with Asia Information Services (AIS) to sell RSC eBooks in China and Hong Kong.
With more than 1,000 books, the RSC eBook Collection is a definitive point of reference for anyone working in the chemical sciences. More than 25,000 chapters spanning 40 years have been brought together and digitised as fully-searchable pdf files. The result is a comprehensive overview of research and opinion across the chemical sciences. The RSC has an extensive portfolio of books ranging from food science and analytical chemistry to organic and physical chemistry.
The collaboration allows AIS to exclusively sell RSC eBooks in China and Hong Kong for a 4 year period from April 2012.
Stephen Hawthorne, Sales Director at the RSC, said: "We are delighted to be partnering with Asia Information Services in our increasingly important China and Hong Kong markets. Our aim is to further enhance academic access to our world-class eBook titles to support research in the chemical sciences."
Asia Information Services Limited ("AIS"), founded in 2000, is principally engaged in the supply of academic and professional books in Hong Kong to research institutions, state libraries, and universities in China. Its sales team is located in Beijing, Nanjing, Guangzhou and Wuhan.
This has enabled AIS to sustain a closer relationship with local libraries of universities, research institutions, public libraries, international schools and government organizations.
Rico Chow, Director of AIS, said: "With an exclusive license to market and distribute RSC's great eBooks, we are eager to offer their content to our leading Chinese universities and research institutions. Our collaboration is a win-win situation and will have a substantial growth on our e-book business."
