New Year Honours for members of our community
Congratulations to all those from our community who have been recognised in Her Majesty the Queen's New Year's Honours.
Dr Helen Pain, Deputy CEO of the Royal Society of Chemistry, said: "We're proud to see so many members of the chemistry and wider scientific communities receiving accolades in Her Majesty the Queen's New Year's Honours list.
"Of all these brilliant scientists, I would like to pay particular tribute to Tony Cheetham, who has made an important, leading contribution across materials and inorganic chemistry.
"As an inspirational chemist, we were pleased to be able to publish a special collection of his research in celebration of his 70th birthday, in 2016.
"I am also pleased to see recognition for important contributions from across science and engineering, and would like to pay tribute to Hayaatun Sillem, Lynn Gladden and Adisa Azapagic.
"Our community of chemical scientists use their expertise to improve our health, our environment and our daily lives. Congratulations to all of those on the Honours list this year, who embody that excellence."
