Apply for funding for Global Women’s Breakfast events
The Royal Society of Chemistry is offering grants of up to £500 for those hosting events for this year’s IUPAC Global Women’s Breakfast on February 12, 2020.
The event, co-ordinated by the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC), aims to assist women chemists to expand their network of contacts, both locally and internationally.
This year’s theme is ‘Building bonds to create future leaders’, following last year’s successful theme ‘Empowering Women in Chemistry: A Global Networking Event’.
At breakfast events around the world on February 12, women in the chemical and related sciences and at different stages of their individual careers will build connections to support their professional aspirations and to develop leadership skills. The breakfasts can also connect with one another to establish an on-going virtual and international network where women can discuss career opportunities in professional development, and in research or teaching horizons.
Organisations of all types are invited to participate, including universities, companies, national chemistry societies and government laboratories – as well as individual groups of chemists.
The Royal Society of Chemistry is proud to provide financial support to events organised by individuals or groups within our community. For a grant application form – or simply an initial discussion about GWB2020 support – please contact us at diversity@rsc.org.
You will be asked to submit details including a brief description and total estimated budget of your planned event. All organisers are also encouraged to register their event on the RSC Events page and the IUPAC GWB2020 Event page.
