Members of our community in Queen's birthday honours list
Congratulations to those from across our chemical sciences community who have been recognised by Her Majesty the Queen in her birthday honours list.
Dr Helen Pain, Chief Executive of the Royal Society of Chemistry, said: "We're proud of all those from the chemistry and wider scientific communities whose efforts have been recognised with honours this year.
"Chemistry continues to play a huge role in making the world a better place, from finding life-saving vaccines and medicines to creating the cutting-edge materials we use every day.
"I would like to pay particular tribute to Liz Rowsell OBE, who makes a significant contribution to the chemistry community as a member of our Board of Trustees, as well as in her role as an innovator in industry. She is an inspiration and this is fitting recognition of the efforts she has made throughout her career".
Last year, Liz Rowsell played an important role in our Digital Futures project, from which we gained a more in-depth understanding of the long-term promise of and concerns about the use of data and digital technologies for scientific discovery. See below for a video in which Liz explains how digital technologies are creating huge opportunities in research and development across industry.
See below for a list of those in our community and beyond who have been honoured
