RSC’s China Senior Expert Advisory Committee unites for third official meeting
RSC leaders met with prominent China-based Fellows from academia, research and industry at the third official meeting of a bilateral advisory committee.
The latest meeting of the RSC's China Senior Expert Advisory Committee came a day before the sixth Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC) Forum on Global Challenges and Chemistry Solutions.
Two members of the RSC's leadership team, Emma Wilson and Elizabeth Woods, attended the meeting, which saw important discussions take place and views exchanged on how best to both shape the future of the chemical sciences and better connect scientists in China, the UK and beyond.
The RSC China Senior Expert Advisory Committee was formed in 2022 to strengthen our engagement with our membership and the chemistry community in China and a key gesture to facilitate UK-China bilateral academic communication.
The Committee is made up of long-standing RSC fellows who are all senior experts from across universities, research institutes and businesses. Chair of the committee is Professor Zhong-Qun Tian, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and a Professor of Electrochemistry at Xiamen University. Prof. Tian was also the winner of the RSC Faraday Medal in 2012.
Our CEO Dr. Helen Pain chaired the second official committee meeting in Ningbo last October, with Sarah Robertson also in attendance.
