Chem. Commun., 1999, 1321.

Contrary to the claim in this communication that there are apparently no examples of steroids with the same skeleton as dankasterone, it has since been brought to the authors' attention that one such steroid has been prepared by a photochemical reaction and reported (L. Canonica, B. Danieli, G. Lesma and G. Palmisano, J. Chem. Soc., Chem. Commun., 1985, 1321; L. Canonica, B. Danieli, G. Lesma, G. Palmisano and A. Mugnoli, Helv. Chim. Acta, 1987, 70, 701). The authors regret that they did not pick up these papers during their literature search.
