The ligand RCO2H = N,N-[bis(2-pyridylmethyl)-β-alanine [3-bis(2-pyridylmethyl)aminopropionic acid] reported as new in this communication had previously been prepared by A. Hazell, K. B. Jensen, C. J. McKenzie and H. Toftlund (J. Chem. Soc., Dalton Trans., 1993, 3249) and applied in the synthesis of ligand bridged μ-oxo diiron complexes. The authors apologise for this oversight.
