The authors would like to point out that, due to an oversight, they failed to cite the very relevant results of Schlummer and Hartwig (B. Schlummer and J. F. Hartwig, Org. Lett., 2002, 4, 1471–1474) who have also developed similar cyclisations leading to pyrrolidines, in some cases using triflic acid. The authors apologise to Schlummer and Hartwig and thank them for pointing out the omission.
